New Mexico State Treasurer’s Office warns of AI phone impersonation scams

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico State Treasurer’s Office on Wednesday warned of active schemes involving artificial intelligence to target state agencies and private individuals. Fraudsters are using AI technology to make fraudulent calls, emails, and text messages far more convincing and undetectable, the New Mexico State Treasurer’s Office said.
